Before And On The Day Of Examination Reminders

A Week Before Examination

Prepare

1. Secure all your stuff like Notice of Admission (NOA), Official Receipt of Payment, Pencils No. 1 or 2/, Black ink ballpen, metered-stamped mailing envelope, long brown and plastic/transparent envelopes and a non-programmable calculator.

* The following are not allowed inside the examination premises: books, notes, review materials and other printed materials containing formula, among others; cellphones and similar gadgets; bags of any kind; and programmable calculators.

2. Check your room assignment. It is posted in the Professional Regulation Commission Website.

3. Visit the Examination Venue and your room assignment a day before your exam. So you won’t be stressed out looking for it on the actual examination day.

* If you intend to visit the Examination Venue and your building and room assignment, bring with you your notice of admission to inform the school guard of your intention to give you access to the school premises.

4. Prepare your prescribed dress code as mandated by PRC and have an extra layer like a jacket to be comfortable with the examination room temperature in case it's fully air-conditioned.

* For male examinees, plain white polo shirt with collar without any seal, logo or marks partnered with decent pants or slacks. For female, plain white blouse or shirt with a collar without any seal, logo, or marks partnered with skirt or slacks.

5.  Do not forget to read carefully the general instructions indicated in the Notice of Admission so you know what exactly you’re going to do.

Avoid

6. Avoid eating the wrong food combination that may result in digestive un-ease, gas, bloating, stomach ache, nausea, fatigue, and problems with elimination. Doing this can destroy your exam performance.

If your normal eating habit does not cause you any stomach ache or any discomfort, I suggest you maintain your normal eating habit. Avoid overeating before the actual exam.

7. Drinking alcohols, a night before the examination.

"Alcohol interferes with the brain's communication pathways and can affect the way the brain looks and works. These disruptions can change mood and behavior, and make it harder to think clearly and move with coordination".

Avoid talking to negative and anxious people that have a tendency of destroying your focus and confidence; Study says "that even being around stressed person, be it a loved one or a stranger, has the power to make a someone stressed in a physically quantifiable way"

A Night Before The Examination Day

Must do

1. Rest well the night before the exam. The study says: "Sleep deprivation also negatively affects your mental abilities and emotional state. It can also compromise decision-making processes and creativity".

Avoid

2. Avoid cramming. Staying awake until dawn reading your review materials the night before the exam will reduce your examination performance and deplete your energy for the actual exam;

3. Avoid negative thoughts, self-criticism, and other self-defeating mindsets like fear or doubts about the outcome of the exam. Make use of your remaining time to positively gather your senses and refocus your thoughts.

4. Rumors of last-minute tips or leakage. Do not spend a few seconds waiting for leakage the night before the exam, use your time to rest, instead. Resulting in exam malpractice is a manifestation of weakness and may even result in disqualification.

5. Kneel down and pray. Ask for wisdom and for the strength to face this challenging test. it establishes confidence and peace of mind.

Examination Day

Must do

1. Be punctual. Examinees are required to report to the Test Center before 6:30 am on the examination day. Allot a considerable time for your travel time and time allowance for possible traffic congestion. The late student will not be admitted.

2. Listen to instructions carefully and coordinate with the assigned proctors and watchers. When you enter the exam room, present your Notice of Admission and other requirements to the proctor.

3. Once, you received the test questions, check if the number of pages of the test question set is complete and no misprint. If there is a problem, return the set to the Room watchers and ask for a replacement.

4. Be careful in handling the Examinee Identification Sheet/ Answer Sheets. Do not fold or mutilate the sheet. Keep it clean and free from undue markings.

In Answering The Test Questions

Must do

1 If the question is long and involves various facts, read the question first then the facts. So you will have a definite focus in mind as to what key facts you are supposed to look for.

2. Read carefully and understand what the question is actually asking for. Do not be tempted to assume facts that are not provided in the question.

3. If you're having difficulties in the question, do not dwell on it too long. Skip the difficult question and answer the others first. Simply return to that question later on. Never leave a question unanswered.

4. Be careful. See to it that you are placing your answer in the answer sheet number that corresponds to the number of the test question, you are answering. Avoid mismatching the numbers of your answers and the questions.

5. If you are experiencing some sort of mental block, simply calm your senses. Don't panic. Breathe deeply and mildly massage your head to relax it.

6. If you finished the test early, don't submit it immediately, instead make use of your extra time to review your answers or to check any discrepancies in the numbering.

After The Examination

Must do

1. Submit the answer sheets with the test questions to the proctor and sign an appropriate form. Leave the examination room silently.

2. Avoid loitering and discussing your answers with other people outside the examination room. Besides, you will not gain anything from discussing it.

Finally

1. You have done your part. It is in God's hand now.
